Terms of use
The rules for using SharedClipboard, what we can remove, and what we can’t promise.
The service
SharedClipboard is a free clipboard in the browser. You create a clipboard, open it on your other devices or share it with people you choose, and anything added shows up on all of them. There are no accounts. Text and files go straight between devices and browsers without being stored on our server.
What you can’t use it for
- Anything illegal where you or the people you share with are, including sexual content involving minors, which we report.
- Sharing content you don’t have the right to share, such as pirated films, music, software or books.
- Malware, phishing, spam, or harassing or threatening people.
- Publishing a clipboard link publicly, or using SharedClipboard as file hosting for strangers.
- Getting around the limits, overloading the service, or trying to open clipboards you weren’t given.
Your content and who you share it with
What you add stays yours, and you’re responsible for it. Because everything is encrypted on your devices, we can’t see it, and we don’t check it.
Anyone with a clipboard’s link, and any device you allow with a code, can see, add, change and delete everything in that clipboard. Only share it with people you trust. Removing a device in the devices list stops it reading anything added afterwards.
Removing clipboards
If a clipboard breaks these terms, or we’re required to by law, we can delete its contents, disconnect its devices and block it from being opened again, without notice. See Report abuse for how reports work.
No guarantees
SharedClipboard is provided as it is, free of charge, without guarantees that it will always be available or keep working the way it does now. Files live only in the browsers of the connected devices, so clearing a browser’s data or losing a device can lose them. Keep your own copy of anything important.
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for lost data or for indirect damage from using the service. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by agreement.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version, and using the service after a change means you accept it. Questions: support@sharedclipboard.com. This address is also our point of contact for authorities and users.
