Google makes Quick Share for Android phones, Windows PCs and Chromebooks, but not for Mac.

Send files between your Android phone and your Mac

  1. Get a private link on your Mac. Open sharedclipboard.com on your Mac and click Get a private link. A QR code appears.

  2. Open it on your Android phone. Point the camera at the code and tap the link. The same clipboard opens in the browser, with nothing to install.

  3. Add your files. Tap Add files on your Android phone and pick what you want to send. It shows up on your Mac a moment later, and Download saves it.

Other ways to get Quick Share-like sharing on a Mac

AirDrop from newer Android phones

Pixel 9 and later (except the Pixel 9a), recent Samsung Galaxy phones and a few others can send to a Mac with AirDrop through Quick Share. The Mac needs to accept AirDrop from Everyone.

NearDrop

A free, open source Mac app that lets a Mac receive files sent with Quick Share.

A USB cable and OpenMTP

OpenMTP is a free Mac app that opens an Android phone’s storage over USB.

Good to know

  • It works with any Android phone, not only the ones that support AirDrop through Quick Share.
  • Both devices need to be online at the same time. Files go straight from one to the other and are never stored on our servers.
  • Each file can be up to 100 MB.
  • Some work and school networks block direct connections between devices. If a file doesn’t arrive, put both devices on the same Wi‑Fi or use your phone’s hotspot.
